As of Sunday morning, the fire had already consumed approximately 70 square kilometers. These types of fires not only pose a threat to flora and fauna, but also to the thousands of structures, including homes and commercial buildings, that are in their path.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Amenazas_y_Evacuaciones\"><\/span>Threats and Evacuations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>With more than 35,000 structures threatened, evacuation orders have not been long in coming. Residents in communities like Running Springs and Arrowbear Lake have been warned to leave their homes and seek shelter in safer locations. Dry plants, combined with temperatures exceeding 39 degrees Celsius, create the perfect environment for the flames to spread out of control. Despite these challenges, more than 600 firefighters, supported by helicopters and planes, are working tirelessly to control the fire.
